Galaxy S10’s Display Reduces Exposure to Blue Light

Smartphones are the major cause of insomnia for a lot of people nowadays. A study proves that more than half of the world is engaged in their cell phones for more than 5 hours a day. These appliances cause some major damage and destruction to our body clock and cause some serious problems in the future.

Samsung has pulled off a move that no other mobile company could! It created a display in Samsung Galaxy S10 that reduces user’s exposure to blue light with the same luxurious experience without sabotaging the display. Below is the mechanism of how this display works in the Galaxy S10.

How Harmful is Blue Light Exposure?

How Harmful is Blue Light

The fundamentals that make up the Blue-light is that it is a high-intensity, short-wavelength range of light.

Regardless, of the sunlight, we are constantly being exposed to the blue light from our cell phones these days. This is however good according to the study at Royal Society Te Aparangi where they stated that our body clock works proficiently because sunlight plays a major role in the wellness of it. But exceed that particular degree and you may find yourself dehydrated and dizzy.

The blue light is very harmful to us in the night time, however. This is because a recent study showed that the blue light from the cell phones can highly diminish the well-being of the eye for the long run if the person is constantly being exposed to it at night. Hence, it has become a necessity for us, humans, to safeguard ourselves from such relentless exposure to blue light.

How the Galaxy S10 Reduces Blue Light Transmission

Devices like the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10e, and Galaxy S105g Dynamic AMOLED display have been created to minimize the blue light from reaching the retina of the eye.

The Galaxy S10 has been certified by world-renowned testing firm TUV Rheinland. The official ‘Eye Comfort’ certification has been approved by the judging panel and thus this is a huge relief for all the Galaxy S10 users. It reduces the blue light wavelength by up to 42 percent without the use of filters.

The industry has been working hard on this AMOLED display screen and as a result, their hard work bore fruit. The Dynamic AMOLED display reduces the blue light transmission below 7 percent. This means that the AMOLED display reduces almost more than 50 percent of the blue light than the previous AMOLED and more than 60 percent than most smartphones LCDs.

The preserving quality feature of the Galaxy S10 is quite remarkable. While lowering the blue light wavelength, the quality of the colors does not diminish and the industry has gone too long lengths to find the impeccable change while the user cannot find any quality issues. The previous phones, however, showed a distinctive tint color in the display.

An additional protection feature is also applied in the Galaxy S10 which is accessible via the Quick Panel. This feature blocks up to 99 percent of the blue light transmissions. The user also has the choice to automatically set the blue-light filter on before going to bed so that a minimal amount of blue light is radiated by the phone. This feature can be accessed by Settings>Advanced features>Bixby Routines.
