Samsung Galaxy Watch: Everything you should Know

The original Galaxy Gear was not that successful. This time Samsung has come up with its latest smartwatch to compete with many other wearables that are available on the market. Galaxy wearables are solid tools, most importantly the Gear S2 and Gear S3, which is a great fusion of user-friendly interface, amazing design, and a rotating bezel. Recently Galaxy unveiled its latest smartwatch in 2018 event in Brooklyn which is called the Samsung Galaxy Watch — designed to keep you not just healthier but can make you a better person as well.

Let’s find out what this Samsung Galaxy watch has to offer:

Designed Like Normal Watch

Designe

Similar to many smartwatches available on the market these days, the Samsung Galaxy Watch is also available in different models i.e. 42mm and 46mm. It is great for people of all built type to select as per their wrist size.  It is lightweight and extremely comfortable on the wrist.

It is not very different from previous Samsung smartwatches in several ways, still, there are also a few major tweaks that you will find in this watch in its design. It has a round shape watch that gives it a normal watch look what you wear in everyday life. This stands opposite to Apple’s smartwatches. Even the upcoming Apple Watch Series 4 is going to maintain the same tradition of the square face which makes it anything but an ordinary watch.

A heart sensor is placed on the back of the device, making it a welcome feature and will help with fitness monitoring.

Similar to its predecessors, this watch is equipped with a rotating bezel, which is the part of this device apart from the touch screen and the two buttons placed on the right side of the watch. The AMOLED inside the bezel comes in two sizes as the device you select which are in 1.3 inches or 1.2 inches, with a resolution of 360 x 360.

It comes in 3 colors —midnight black or rose gold for the 42mm model and silver for the 46mm model. It comes with various types of watch bands that you can select from as per your taste and device type.

This watch is said to be quite durable too. The company has come up with “military-grade durability” equipped with Corning’s DX+ glass at Samsung Unpacked 2018. This device is also 5ATM water-resistant that means it is a great device if you plan to swim without removing it. It can withstand up to 165 feet of water.

Focused on Fitness Track Software

While it was rumored earlier that Samsung might shift to Google’s Wear OS for its new wearable but this is not the truth. The fitness tracking is its major focus. The device has a heart-rate monitor which will also offer breathing exercises in case it goes up. It can track up to 39 workouts, and 6 most frequently done workouts can be tracked instantly. It can also track your sleep. All these features are connected to the Samsung Health app, so you can easily access on your Samsung phone.

The watch also features Bixby, Samsung’s own digital assistant — though it is yet to see if it will be of any help as it has not been much successful in the past.

Although the watch is programmed to work seamlessly with Samsung phones, it can also work on any other phone having Android 5.0 or later along with an iPhone 5 or later with iOS 9.0 or above. Would it also be compatible working with some special way with the upcoming Galaxy S10 or the future devices like foldable Galaxy X phones? Yet to watch!
